Need help? Email harshaggarwal1346@gmail.com. We usually reply within two business days. Please include your macOS version and what you were trying to do.

Getting started

  1. Open Citron. It lives in your menu bar (the citrus icon at the top of the screen).
  2. In Finder, start dragging any file.
  3. While still dragging, hold a key: ⇧ Shift for conversions, ⌘ Command for tools, or ⌃ Control for quick actions. A wheel appears under your cursor.
  4. Drop the file on a slice. The result is saved next to the original file.

You can change the keys in Citron → Settings → General. The tutorial is under Settings → About.

Frequently asked questions

Citron asks for permission to save in a folder. Why?

macOS only lets App Store apps write to folders you allow. Citron asks once per folder and remembers your choice. Downloads never needs asking. To skip the question for all folders, allow your home folder once (Settings → Folders). You can remove a folder there at any time.

How many free uses do I get?

Your first 50 actions are free. One action is one conversion, compression or saved edit (a batch of files counts once). Copy, AirDrop and other quick actions are always free. You can see what's left in Settings → About.

How do I unlock Citron, or restore my purchase on another Mac?

Lifetime access is a one-time in-app purchase with no subscription. Buy it from Settings → About or the menu bar menu. On another Mac signed in to the same Apple Account, open Settings → About and click Restore Purchase.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

A Pages document only converted its first page.

Citron reads the preview stored inside Pages documents. For multi-page documents, open them in Pages and choose File → Export To → PDF, then use Citron on the PDF.

Does Citron upload my files?

No. Every conversion and edit happens on your Mac. See the privacy policy.
